House Sparrow Hatchling
Passer domesticus (hatchling)

Newly hatched house sparrows are blind, mostly naked chicks that remain hidden in a nest built in cavities, eaves, signs, or dense vegetation near people. They cannot fly and rely on frequent begging calls to bring parents with insects and other soft foods. At this stage, their main defence is staying low in the nest while calling when a parent arrives. A notable fact is that young house sparrows grow very quickly, developing pin feathers within days.
