Little Egret Chick
Egretta garzetta (chick)

A downy nestling found in stick nests placed in reedbeds, shrubs, or trees near wetlands. It stays close to the nest and depends on adults for regurgitated small fish, tadpoles, crustaceans, and aquatic insects. Its main behaviors are begging, crouching, and jostling with nestmates rather than hunting for itself. Even at this stage, the sharp little bill is used for pecking during competition in the nest.
