Hooded Crow Hatchling
Corvus cornix (hatchling)

A hooded crow hatchling is a naked or lightly downed chick kept deep inside a twig nest in trees, cliffs, or human structures. It cannot fly or feed itself, relying on loud begging calls and gaping to draw food from its parents. Its diet is regurgitated or delivered in small pieces, including insects, worms, carrion, scraps, and other soft animal matter. At this stage its strongest defense is staying low in the nest while calling only when a parent arrives.
