Eurasian Sparrowhawk
Accipiter nisus

The adult Eurasian Sparrowhawk hunts through woodland, hedgerows, gardens, and field edges, using cover before bursting out in a fast pursuit. It feeds mainly on small birds, seizing them with long legs and sharp talons after a sudden chase. Females are much larger than males, allowing them to take bigger prey such as thrushes and pigeons. Its short, rounded wings and long tail make it exceptionally agile in tight spaces.
