Eurasian Magpie Nestling
Pica pica (nestling)
This downy chick remains in a twig nest in woodland, farmland edges, parks, or gardens while its parents bring insects, larvae, scraps, and other soft food. It cannot yet fly and relies on crouching low, gaping, and loud begging calls to be fed and protected. Nestlings grow quickly, and their early black-and-white feathering begins to show before the long tail develops.
