Eurasian Jackdaw Hatchling
Coloeus monedula (hatchling)

A newly hatched Eurasian jackdaw is blind, mostly bare-skinned, and confined to a cavity nest in a tree, cliff, building, or chimney. It cannot fly and spends nearly all its time crouched low, begging with open gape and high calls when a parent arrives. Its diet is entirely delivered by adults, usually soft insects, larvae, and other easily swallowed animal food. Like other corvid chicks, it is highly altricial, depending completely on parental warmth and feeding.
