Eurasian Jackdaw
Coloeus monedula

The adult Eurasian jackdaw is a small corvid of farmland, open woodland, villages, towns, cliffs, and old buildings, often nesting in cavities or chimneys. It flies with quick wingbeats and agile turns, foraging on insects, seeds, grain, fruit, carrion, eggs, and human scraps. Adults are alert, social, and intelligent, using calls, postures, pecks, and aerial mobbing to defend space or respond to threats. Its pale eyes and silvery-grey nape are distinctive, and long-term pair bonds are common.
