Oriental Garden Lizard Hatchling
Calotes versicolor (hatchling)

Newly hatched Oriental garden lizards keep low among leaf litter, garden edges, and small shrubs where cover is dense. They feed on tiny insects and other small arthropods, relying on quick darts from hiding rather than long chases. Their small size makes camouflage especially important, and remaining still can make them nearly invisible against twigs and dry leaves. Like other young agamids, they are independent from birth and receive no parental care.
