Eurasian Otter
Lutra lutra

Adult Eurasian otters live along clean rivers, lakes, marshes, and rocky coasts, using bankside holts and dense cover for resting. They are mostly solitary hunters that swim with powerful body waves and steer with the tail while searching for fish, crayfish, frogs, and other aquatic prey. On land they travel between waterways, mark territories with scent, and can move with surprising agility. A notable adaptation is their exceptionally dense waterproof fur, which keeps them insulated in cold water.
