German Cockroach
Blattella germanica

Adult German cockroaches thrive in human buildings, especially warm places with food residue, moisture, and many hiding spaces. They are nocturnal scavengers that eat a wide range of materials, including crumbs, grease, starch, glue, and decaying organic matter. Adults have wings but usually run more than they fly, escaping quickly into crevices when lights or vibrations disturb them. A notable fact is that females carry an egg case until just before hatching, helping the species reproduce rapidly indoors.
