Bobcat
Lynx rufus

Bobcats are adaptable wild cats found in forests, deserts, swamps, and brushy edges across much of North America. Solitary and mostly crepuscular or nocturnal, they stalk through cover and ambush rabbits, rodents, birds, and other small prey. Short tails, tufted ears, spotted coats, and oversized paws help them move quietly through broken terrain and snow. A notable fact is that they can take prey much larger than themselves, including deer, though small mammals make up most of their diet.
