Great Cormorant Chick
Phalacrocorax carbo (chick)

A nest-bound young cormorant lives on coastal cliffs, islands, trees, or reedbed nesting sites near productive water. It depends on regurgitated fish brought by adults and spends much of its time begging, resting, and growing feathers. Its bare or downy body is vulnerable to cold and predators, but it grows rapidly in the crowded nest. A notable early feature is its strong begging call and gaping mouth, which help parents deliver food accurately.
