Argentine Ant
Linepithema humile

Argentine ants are tiny, brown worker ants often found in soil, leaf litter, sidewalks, gardens, and buildings, especially in warm urban and agricultural areas. They feed on sweets, dead insects, small arthropods, and honeydew collected from sap-feeding insects. A worker relies on quick movement, mandibles, chemical trails, and defensive secretions rather than a sting. This species is famous for forming enormous invasive supercolonies that can displace native ants across multiple continents.
