Lime Butterfly
Papilio demoleus
The adult is a strong-flying swallowtail butterfly found in open woodland, farms, orchards, and urban gardens across warm parts of Asia and beyond. It visits flowers for nectar and searches citrus-family plants where females lay eggs. Its quick, irregular flight helps it avoid birds, lizards, and other predators. This species is notable for thriving around cultivated citrus and can become a familiar garden butterfly as well as an orchard pest.
