Yellow-vented Bulbul
Pycnonotus goiavier

The adult is a common bulbul of open country, gardens, mangroves, plantations, and secondary growth across much of Southeast Asia. It forages actively for fruit, nectar, berries, and insects, often perching conspicuously before making quick flights between shrubs and trees. Adults defend nest sites with calls, chases, pecks, and short aerial rushes. Its yellow vent under the tail is a key field mark and gives the bird its common name.
