Harlequin Ladybird
Harmonia axyridis

The adult is a small, dome-shaped beetle found in gardens, farmland, woodland edges, and buildings, especially where aphids are abundant. It walks over plants searching for prey and can fly readily to new feeding or overwintering sites. Its diet is mainly aphids, scale insects, and other soft-bodied invertebrates, making it an effective predator but also a competitor with native ladybirds. A notable fact is its extremely variable colour pattern, ranging from orange with black spots to black with red spots.
