Case-making Clothes Moth Larva
Tinea pellionella (larva)

The larva lives in dark, undisturbed places such as wardrobes, carpets, upholstery, bird nests, and stored animal materials. It feeds on keratin-rich wool, fur, feathers, hair, and dried organic debris, scraping and chewing with small mandibles. A notable feature is its portable silken case, which is covered with fibers from its surroundings and enlarged as it grows. When disturbed, it can retreat into this case, making the larval stage the main fabric-damaging phase.
