Indian Peafowl Chick
Pavo cristatus (chick)

Indian peafowl chicks live in grass, scrub edges, and open woodland close to a protective hen. They are precocial, leaving the nest soon after hatching to run, crouch, and peep when threatened. Their diet is rich in small insects, tender shoots, and fallen seeds. Downy brown-and-buff plumage helps them blend into leaf litter until stronger juvenile feathers grow in.
