Red-necked Wallaby
Notamacropus rufogriseus

The adult red-necked wallaby lives in eastern Australian forests, scrub, and pasture margins, sheltering by day and grazing mostly at dusk and night. It eats grasses, herbs, leaves, and shoots, using efficient hopping to move between feeding areas and cover. When alarmed, it bounds away rapidly and may thump with its hind feet to signal danger. Strong hind legs and a balancing tail let it deliver powerful kicks during defense or male sparring.
