Red-necked Wallaby Joey
Notamacropus rufogriseus (joey)

A young red-necked wallaby stays close to cover in open forest, woodland edges, and grassy clearings, often retreating to its mother's pouch when threatened. It feeds first on milk and later begins nibbling grasses, herbs, and soft leaves as it grows more independent. Even before adulthood, it practices short hops and balancing with its tail, building the coordination needed for fast escape. Its reddish neck coloring is faint or still developing compared with the adult coat.
