Domestic Sheep Lamb
Ovis aries (lamb)
A domestic sheep lamb stays close to its mother in pastures, barns, and fenced grasslands. It feeds first on milk, then begins nibbling grasses, clover, and other soft plants as its rumen develops. Lambs are social, playful, and quick to follow familiar calls, often practicing small head bumps with other young animals. A notable fact is that lambs can recognize their mother's voice and scent soon after birth.
