Budgerigar
Melopsittacus undulatus

An adult budgerigar is a small parrot of arid and semi-arid Australian grasslands, scrub, and open woodland. It flies swiftly between feeding sites and feeds mainly on grass seeds, using a strong curved beak to husk them. Adults are highly vocal and social, but a single bird still defends itself with pecks, wing blows, quick takeoffs, and alarm calls. One notable fact is that wild birds are naturally green and yellow, a camouflage pattern very different from many captive color varieties.
