Ass
Equus asinus
Adult asses are hardy equids found in arid grasslands, rocky scrub, deserts, and human-managed farms across much of the world. They graze and browse on coarse grasses, shrubs, and dry vegetation that many livestock avoid. When alarmed, an adult may stand its ground, bite, kick powerfully, or give a loud bray that carries over long distances. Their large ears help release heat and also give them excellent hearing in open, dry country.
