Red Panda Cub
Ailurus fulgens (cub)

A red panda cub spends its early life hidden in a tree hollow or rock crevice in cool Himalayan forest. It depends on its mother at first, then gradually begins climbing, exploring branches, and nibbling bamboo leaves, fruit, and soft plant material. Young cubs are cautious and vulnerable, using claws and quick scrambling more for escape than for fighting. A notable fact is that cubs are born with their eyes closed and only later develop the strong climbing skills of adults.
