Sun Parakeet Fledgling
Aratinga solstitialis (fledgling)
A sun parakeet fledgling lives around the nest cavity and nearby branches while practicing short, unsteady flights. It is alert and noisy, using calls to keep contact while it learns to balance, climb, and avoid danger. It still receives food from adults but begins nibbling fruit, seeds, blossoms, and soft plant material on its own. Its plumage is already colorful, though the wings and tail are still developing full strength and coordination.
