Coconut Rhinoceros Beetle Larva
Oryctes rhinoceros (larva)

A thick, C-shaped grub living in rotting palm trunks, compost, and decaying organic matter near coconut plantations. It tunnels through soft debris while feeding mostly on decomposing plant material and roots. Its pale body is soft, but the head capsule and mandibles are strong enough to chew fibrous wood. This long larval stage stores much of the energy used for metamorphosis.
