Red Grasshawk
Neurothemis fluctuans

The adult Red Grasshawk is a small red dragonfly often seen around ponds, rice fields, ditches, and sunny wetland edges in Southeast Asia. It perches openly on twigs or grass tips, then darts out to catch mosquitoes, flies, and other small insects in mid-air. Males are territorial and use their vivid red wing patches in displays and short chases over favored perches. Its broad reddish wing coloration makes it one of the more recognizable grasshawks in its range.
