White Rhinoceros Subadult
Ceratotherium simum (subadult)

Subadult white rhinoceroses range through grassy savannas and woodland edges as they become more independent from their mothers. They are grazers with wide, square lips adapted for cropping low grasses close to the ground. Their horns and heavy shoulders are now well developed enough for serious shoving, sparring, and defensive charges. This stage often tests boundaries with other rhinos while still avoiding the most dominant adults.
