Olive-backed Sunbird
Cinnyris jugularis

The adult Olive-backed Sunbird lives in mangroves, woodland edges, parks, plantations, and flowering gardens across much of Southeast Asia and northern Australia. It darts between blossoms, hovering briefly or perching while feeding on nectar with its slender curved bill, and it also catches small insects and spiders. Males show a glossy blue-black throat and yellow belly, while females are plainer olive above and yellow below. One notable fact is that this species often thrives around people, nesting in sheltered human-made structures as well as vegetation.
