Arapaima Fry
Arapaima gigas (fry)
Arapaima fry live in quiet, warm freshwater shallows, often near floating plants and flooded forest margins. They eat small crustaceans, insect larvae, and other tiny aquatic prey. Fry grow rapidly and begin making regular trips to the surface to gulp air with their developing air-breathing system.
