Jungle Nymph Nymph
Heteropteryx dilatata (nymph)
This young jungle nymph lives among broad-leaved plants in humid Malaysian rainforest understory. It feeds on leaves and spends long periods motionless, relying on its green, leaflike body to avoid notice. The nymph molts repeatedly as it grows, gaining progressively larger spines and a tougher exoskeleton.
