Evening Grosbeak

Adult Evening Grosbeaks inhabit coniferous and mixed forests, especially where seed-bearing trees are abundant. Their exceptionally powerful bills crack hard seeds, while insects and buds supplement the diet during warmer months. In some years they wander far beyond their usual range in large winter movements when food supplies shift.
