Bear Cicada
Cryptotympana facialis

Adult bear cicadas inhabit wooded parks, gardens, and forest edges in East Asia, often resting high in tree canopies. They feed on xylem sap, inserting their beak-like mouthparts into twigs and branches. Males are especially notable for their powerful, sustained calls, produced by vibrating abdominal organs to attract mates.
