Field Cricket Nymph
Gryllus campestris (nymph)

Field cricket nymphs live among dry grassland, heath, and the entrances of shallow soil burrows. They forage mostly at night on grasses, seeds, fallen plant matter, and small invertebrates. Wingless and much smaller than adults, they escape danger by jumping, freezing among vegetation, or retreating underground. As they grow, they repeatedly shed their exoskeleton before their final adult molt.
