Giant Anteater Pup
Myrmecophaga tridactyla (pup)
A giant anteater pup rides on its mother's back through grasslands, savannas, and open woodland. It nurses at first, then gradually samples ants and termites gathered by its mother. Its dark back stripe helps it blend with the adult while being carried. Young pups remain dependent on their mother for many months.
