Migratory Locust
Locusta migratoria

Adult migratory locusts inhabit grasslands, cultivated fields, and dry open country across a broad range. They feed on grasses, cereal crops, and other green plants, using strong chewing mouthparts. Fully developed wings allow sustained flight and rapid movement between feeding areas. Under crowded conditions, adults can change behaviour and appearance as part of the locust phase.
