Fowler's Toad Toadlet
Anaxyrus fowleri (toadlet)

Fowler's Toad Toadlets leave their breeding pools after metamorphosis and shelter in damp leaf litter, sandy soil, and vegetation near the water's edge. They hunt tiny ants, mites, and other small invertebrates, mostly becoming active at dusk or after rain. Despite their tiny size, they already possess the skin glands that provide the irritating chemical defense of adult Fowler's Toads.
