American Bullfrog
Aquarana catesbeiana

Adult American bullfrogs live around ponds, lakes, marshes, canals, and slow waterways, usually waiting at the shoreline or floating among vegetation. They are ambush predators that eat insects, crayfish, fish, other frogs, small snakes, and even small mammals or birds when they can overpower them. Males are famous for their deep resonant calls, which carry across water during the breeding season. This species is native to eastern North America but has become invasive in many regions because of its size, appetite, and adaptability.
