Perez's Frog
Pelophylax perezi
Perez's frog is an adult pond frog found around still or slow-moving freshwater, including ponds, marshes, irrigation channels, and rice fields. It spends much of its time at the water's edge, slipping into cover or diving when disturbed. Adults feed chiefly on insects and other small invertebrates, but may also take small vertebrates when opportunities arise. Males are especially noticeable during the breeding season, when their calls carry across shallow water.
