Pelophylax perezi (froglet)
Perez's frog froglets stay close to the margins of ponds, ditches, and marshy freshwater after completing metamorphosis. They make short hops through damp vegetation and readily dive or hide in shallow water when threatened. Their diet has shifted to small insects and other tiny invertebrates, while the remaining tail stub is absorbed as they become more capable terrestrial hunters.
