Columbia Spotted Frog
Amerana luteiventris

Columbia Spotted Frogs inhabit cool ponds, marshes, wet meadows, and slow streams across northwestern North America. Adults forage along shorelines and in shallow water, taking insects, spiders, and other small invertebrates with a rapid tongue strike. Their mottled olive to brown backs and pale spots help them blend into muddy vegetation. Unlike many frogs, they are strongly associated with permanent or seasonal wetlands and often overwinter underwater.
