Bearded Vulture Juvenile
Gypaetus barbatus (juvenile)

The juvenile leaves its cliff nest to practice soaring over high mountain valleys and rugged open slopes. It scavenges carrion with its parents' guidance, gradually learning to locate and handle bones. Its dark brown plumage differs greatly from the pale adult coloration and is retained for several years.
