Brown Anole Juvenile
Anolis sagrei (juvenile)

Juvenile brown anoles range through shrubs, fences, tree trunks, and disturbed urban habitats, often staying lower than adults to avoid competition. They eat small insects and other arthropods, capturing prey with rapid bursts from a perch. Juveniles begin using head-bobs and small dewlap displays but still depend on speed and hiding more than direct contests. As they grow, their climbing ability and territorial behavior become more adult-like.
