American Dipper
Cinclus mexicanus

American Dippers live along cold, fast-flowing streams in western North America, where they forage from rocks and stream margins. They eat aquatic insect larvae, small crustaceans, and other invertebrates found beneath the water. Unlike most songbirds, they can walk and swim underwater, using their wings to propel themselves against the current.
