Cabbage Moth
Mamestra brassicae

Adult cabbage moths inhabit gardens, farmland, hedgerows, and other open habitats with host plants nearby. They are mostly nocturnal, flying after dark and visiting flowers for nectar. Females lay clusters of eggs on suitable leaves, where the newly hatched caterpillars will feed. The mottled brown forewings help the resting moth blend into bark, soil, and dead vegetation.
