Iberian Wall Lizard
Podarcis hispanicus

Iberian wall lizards inhabit rocky slopes, old walls, scrubland, and other sunny places with plentiful crevices. They bask to warm up, then actively chase insects, spiders, and other small invertebrates. Agile climbing and sudden bursts of speed help them catch prey and evade danger. When threatened, an adult may drop its tail, which can continue wriggling as the lizard flees.
