Iberian Wall Lizard Hatchling
Podarcis hispanicus (hatchling)

Hatchlings shelter among sun-warmed stones, wall cracks, and low vegetation in Iberian dry habitats. They make short, rapid dashes between cover while hunting tiny insects and spiders. Their small size makes them especially vulnerable to birds and other predators. A hatchling can shed its tail when seized, distracting an attacker while it escapes.
