Marbled Rock Crab Megalopa
Pachygrapsus marmoratus (megalopa)

The megalopa swims in shallow coastal water while beginning to resemble a small crab. It feeds on plankton, detritus, and very small animal prey, using its developing claws to handle food. This stage searches for a suitable rocky shore before moulting into a bottom-dwelling juvenile.
