Cachama Juvenile
Colossoma macropomum (juvenile)
Juvenile cachamas live in calmer channels, floodplain lakes, and seasonally inundated forests. Their diet broadens to include aquatic insects, small crustaceans, fruits, and seeds that fall into the water. They often shelter around woody cover, where their compressed body helps them maneuver through dense vegetation.
