Italian Wall Lizard
Podarcis siculus

Adult Italian wall lizards are common on stone walls, coastal scrub, gardens, ruins, and sunny urban habitats across much of their range and introduced areas. They eat insects, spiders, small invertebrates, and occasional plant material, hunting by quick visual pursuit from basking spots. Adults are alert, territorial, and agile, often using push-up displays, head movements, biting, and rapid retreats during conflicts. A notable feature of the species is its adaptability, which has helped it thrive in many human-altered habitats outside its native range.
